It is an official program offered by the academy to help train and provide work experience to students and recent graduates. An internship in SASA offers a unique opportunity for aspiring statisticians and data analysts to gain practical experience in the field. It allows interns to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world problems, develop technical skills, and understand the workings of a professional environment.
SASA provides internship programmes to students pursuing post graduation/ research in Statistics/ Applied Statistics/ Operations Research/ Economics/ Demography or thos who have completed their course in the relevant discipline. The academy has a rich source of official statistics in various sectors of the economy. Also, the students can utilise the library facilities of the Department of Economics & Statistics and other reference materials in SASA and DES during their internship period. Internships are supervised, structured learning experiences in a professional setting that allow you to gain valuable work experience in a student’s chosen field of study.
How to apply for SASA internship
Those who are interested to have internship at SASA can fill up the application form (Annexure II of the Guidelines) and submit it by email to ecostatplg@gmail.com to the Director of Economics & Statistics. The selected candidates will be informed by letter or by mail from the Directorate. The place of internship will also be allocated from the Directorate. For students who successfully completed their internship at SASA, certicates will be awarded from the Director of SASA.
